several, NTMC has a clear, supported path to reinstate your certification

and return to the community.

FIND YOUR PATH

Choose Your NTMC® Reactivation Pathway

If your NTMC® credential has expired,

your reactivation pathway depends on one thing:

Have you completed your Initial Recertification?

You do not need to choose based on the year you missed.

Choose the option below that matches your recertification history.

Pathway 1:

I have NOT completed Initial Recertification

Choose this pathway if you completed the original NTMC® certification course (between 2023-2025 ) but never completed your Initial Recertification.

To reactivate your NTMC credential, you will complete:

  • Initial Recertification Course

  • Initial Recertification Exemplar

  • Listening Touch Massage™ Skills Blitz

  • TPR Skills Blitz, if applicable for therapists

  • $100 reinstatement fee

SUMMARY

Reinstatement fee: $100
Courses required: Initial Recertification $150
Next renewal due: Based on your original certification cycle (odd-year or even-year)

Total due today: $250

Pathway 2:

I HAVE completed Initial Recertification but my credential has lapsed

Choose this pathway if you previously completed at least one recertification cycle in the past, but your NTMC credential is now expired.

To reactivate your NTMC credential, you will complete:

  • Refresher Recertification Course

  • Listening Touch Massage™ Skills Blitz

  • TPR Skills Blitz, if applicable for therapists

  • $100 reinstatement fee

SUMMARY

Reinstatement fee: $100

Important Eligibility Note

The reactivation options above are designed for those who have been expired for less than 48 months.

(This means your NTMC certification expired in 2025, 2024, 2023 or 2022).

If your NTMC credential expired in 2022 or before, we recommend (but don't require) that you retake the entire NTMC course, as the program has been updated considerably since you first attended.

If you prefer this option, we have a special coupon code for you to save 30% off the course.

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked

Will I keep my original renewal year once reinstated?

Yes. You will return to your original renewal cycle. For example, if your credential was due in 2025 and you reinstate in 2026, your next renewal will be due in 2027 — keeping you on the standard odd-year cycle.

What happens immediately after I pay?

You'll receive a payment confirmation email right away. You'll also receive course access instructions in a separate email.

Is there a deadline to participate in the reactivation program?

The reactivation program is currently open during our recertification period (May - August). We encourage you to begin promptly so your credential can be fully reinstated without further delay and before we close the window for reactivation for this year.

How do I know which pathway to choose?

Choose Initial Recertification Reinstatement if you certified but never completed Initial Recertification.

Choose Refresher Reinstatement if you have already completed your Initial Recertification, but later let your credential lapse.

What if I am not sure which pathway applies to me?

Contact our team at [email protected] and we can confirm which recertifications your have completed in the past, and which pathway to choose.

Why is the Refresher Course required after 2+ year lapses?

Two or more years represents a meaningful gap in active credential status.

The Refresher Course is specifically designed to bring returning NTMC professionals fully up to speed on NTMC principles, values, and any updates to evidence, standards or practices.

It's not a penalty — it's a supported on-ramp back to the NTMC professional community.

What does the reactivation fee cover?

The reinstatement fee covers administrative processing, credential record review, and reinstatement of active credential status after the required course is completed.

Does reactivation reset my certification cycle?

No. Reactivation does not change your next due date for recertification. We return you to your original recertification cycle, which means that you could be due again in less than 12 months to maintain your active status. The reactivation is meant to get your caught up.
